The short version

QuotaBird has no accounts, no ads and no sign-up. The numbers and answers you type into the tools are worked out in your browser and never sent to QuotaBird or anyone else. QuotaBird counts page views and which tools get used, so it knows what's worth improving.

What QuotaBird counts

QuotaBird uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. Google Analytics records the pages you visit and the usual technical details that come with any visit, such as your browser, device type, approximate location and the site that sent you. It sets cookies in your browser to tell visits apart.

QuotaBird also counts a few named events, with no details attached: that someone used a tool, finished a check, shared a result, copied a note to Mark, or downloaded a Field Kit. Those events never include the numbers or answers you entered.

To stop Google Analytics, block its cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out add-on. Google's handling of that data is covered by Google's privacy policy.

What stays in your browser

Shared links

When you share a result, the numbers or answers ride along in the link itself, after the # sign. That part of a link isn't sent to QuotaBird's server or to Google Analytics, but anyone you send the link to can see what's in it. Share accordingly.

What QuotaBird doesn't do

No accounts, no advertising, no selling or renting data, and no AI processing of anything you type. The Field Kits are plain PDF files.

I spent six years leading federal partner sales teams at AWS, after plenty of years carrying a number myself. QuotaBird is mostly stuff I wish we'd had back then. Most of it's free. If the problem's messier than a little tool can handle, we can talk it through.
